Weighing out Mix ratios - 2002 J. Broz
Many of the resins, or silicones, we cast with are measured and mixed by weight.
Some people measure each in separate cups, but I prefer one.
Let's assume a mix ratio of 100:55.
After zero-ing the scale with your cup in place; weigh the A (resin) side. Let's say 125 grams.
125gms (resin) x 55= 6875
divided by 100= 68.75gms (B-catalyst)
Add your original 125gms= 193.75 total.
I usually set 2-4 grams lighter to make sure I hit it when it starts to balance.
Silicone measures out easier.
After zero-ing your cup, pour your silicone.
Say 455gms.
Most silicones are a 10 to 1 mix (or 10%).
Set your scale to add 43gms catalyst.
(minus the 2 for balancing)
Add your catalyst and mix well.
